The challenge
Baltic Forestry manages 260,000 ha across Estonia and Latvia. Conventional stand inventory ran on a ten-year cycle. Windthrow assessment after storms was done by helicopter and estimate.
What we did
ORBIS provides annual stand inventory — height, basal area, species mix and biomass with published uncertainty — and rapid windthrow mapping triggered by named storms, delivered within 48 hours of the first clear acquisition.
