Variable-rate nitrogen across 1,900 member fields
The cooperative asked whether a hyperspectral research model could run at production scale. It could, after two seasons of validation.
The challenge
1,900 fields, 340 members, wheat, sunflower and maize. Nitrogen was applied at flat rates per field. Members were sceptical of prescription maps derived from data they could not check.
What we did
AGRISENSE Enterprise with 22 FIELDKIT soil moisture nodes distributed across representative soil types, integrated with the cooperative's existing farm management software. Every prescription is issued with the observed stress map it was derived from.
Results
- Nitrogen application reduced 11–19% at equal measured yield
- Two seasons of side-by-side validation before full rollout

Our members did not want a black box. Showing them the stress map alongside the prescription changed the conversation completely.
