Portfolio flood exposure and post-event damage assessment
An insurer with alpine flood and hail exposure needed a defensible, repeatable damage picture within days of an event.
The challenge
Alpenland's claims process after a major hail or flood event depended on adjuster availability. Aggregate exposure was modelled but not observed.
What we did
ORBIS provides a portfolio-wide exposure baseline refreshed annually, and post-event damage assessment triggered by the insurer through the ATLAS API. Damage extents are delivered as an auditable observation record.
Results
- Post-event damage extent within 6 hours of first clear acquisition
- Adjuster deployment prioritised by observed damage rather than claim volume
- Auditable observation record retained for each event
We deploy adjusters to where the damage is, not to where the phone calls came from first.
