Water Management & Flood Risk
Dyke deformation, storm-surge alerting, shoreline change and inland water quality.
Terravek's first contract was a dyke deformation survey and water management remains its oldest practice. Persistent-scatterer interferometry detects millimetre-scale settlement across an entire defence system rather than at instrumented points.
The Zeeland Water Board storm-surge early warning service, built on TIDEWATCH and FIELDKIT gauges, won the 2025 Geospatial Impact Award.
Typical outcomes
- Dyke settlement detected at 2 mm/year across whole systems
- Storm-surge threshold alerts within 25 minutes of downlink
- Continuous shoreline and dune volume monitoring
