Munich hyperspectral optics house joins for €11M, bringing sensor design in house.
Terravek has acquired Photonwerk GmbH, a Munich-based hyperspectral optics designer and manufacturer, for €11M.
The acquisition brings optical instrument design and characterisation in house. The München facility, known as Photonwerk Haus, is retained along with its team.
Katrin Wiegand, Photonwerk's head of HR, joins Terravek.
Terravek Systems N.V. is a privately held Earth observation and geospatial analytics company founded in Delft, the Netherlands, in 2007. It employs 742 people across eight countries and reported revenue of €148.6M in FY2025. Terravek operates the ORBIS platform and the GRIDSCAN, TIDEWATCH and AGRISENSE applications, manufactures FIELDKIT in-situ sensors, and operates a ground station at Svalgrund, Sweden.
