Internships & placements

Terravek runs three placement routes: summer internships, longer degree placements, and MSc thesis placements at Terravek Labs. All are paid. We do not run unpaid placements and would rather take fewer people than run them.

Summer internships

Duration

12 weeks, June to August

Pay

€1,100 per month plus travel allowance (local equivalent elsewhere)

20–30 across all offices

Functions

Engineering, data science, security operations, optics, marketing, field operations

Every intern gets a defined project with a named supervisor and a deliverable, and a mentor who is not that supervisor. You present your work to the department at the end of the placement. Ten of the twelve interns in our first fully remote cohort shipped their work to production.

Degree placements

Six-month placements aligned to a degree programme, principally through Baltic Technical University and DIAG. Currently running in security operations, ground segment and agronomy. Anneli Kukk has written an honest account of hers, including the parts that were boring.

MSc thesis placements (Terravek Labs)

Joint — a Terravek Labs scientist and your university supervisor

Topics are proposed by Labs and negotiated with your supervisor. Terravek provides data, compute and instrument access, and supports publication where the work merits it. More about Terravek Labs.
