Vision & strategy

Where Terravek intends to be by 2030, and the four things we are actually doing about it.

By 2030 we intend Terravek to be the reference for traceable Earth observation in Europe — the supplier chosen when the measurement has to stand up to scrutiny years after it was made.

The bet

The volume of Earth observation data available is rising far faster than the ability to trust it. As more constellations launch and more analytics reach the market, the scarce commodity stops being imagery and becomes defensible measurement — data that a regulator, an insurer, a court or a successor engineer will accept.

That is the market we are building for. It is a slower market than the one built on volume, and it is a considerably more durable one.

Four strategic priorities to 2030

1. One platform, four vocabularies

ORBIS, GRIDSCAN, TIDEWATCH and AGRISENSE are converging onto a single tasking and delivery fabric while keeping the domain language each audience needs. GRIDSCAN migrated in November 2025, TIDEWATCH follows in September 2026 and AGRISENSE in early 2027. The reasoning.

2. Latency as a controlled variable

The Svalgrund ground station brought median European delivery latency under ninety minutes. The objective to 2030 is not a lower median but a tighter distribution: predictable worst-case delivery, because customers running alerting services are exposed by the bad day, not the average one.

3. Measurement traceable end to end

From the Photonwerk optical bench in München, through the Vollenhove Polder calibration range, to the uncertainty reported on each delivered pixel. Owning the instrument design, the calibration reference and the processing chain is what makes an unbroken traceability claim possible. Very few companies in this sector can make one.

4. Growth without dilution of the engineering ratio

We maintain an engineering-to-sales headcount ratio above 2:1 and intend to keep it there. This constrains how fast we can grow and it is a deliberate constraint.

What we have said we will not chase

  • Defence and intelligence markets — see the dual-use policy.
  • Owning a constellation. Capital deployed on spacecraft is capital not deployed on the measurement chain, which is where our advantage is.
  • Consumer or prosumer products.
  • Growth by acquisition as a primary strategy. Two acquisitions in nineteen years is roughly the rate we can integrate well. Why.
