University collaboration

Six institutions, four kinds of relationship.

Terravek was founded out of a university research group and has never entirely left one. Our academic relationships run in four forms: joint doctoral supervision, MSc thesis placements, curriculum licensing, and independent validation.

What we offer universities

Free curriculum licence

Terravek Academy content is free to license for any university running it inside a degree programme. Four institutions are doing so this academic year.

Free ATLAS Sandbox

1,000 requests a day against a fixed sample catalogue, with no commercial conversation required. It exists so that teaching does not need a subscription.

Paid placements

MSc thesis placements at €900/month and summer internships at €1,100/month, both with travel allowances. We do not run unpaid placements.

Calibration range access

The Vollenhove Polder range is available to academic groups for validation campaigns at cost. Requests to calibration@terravek.com.

Independent validation

Rift Valley Agricultural College runs the seasonal field validation of AGRISENSE recommendations in East Africa, independently of Terravek, and we publish the results whether or not they flatter the model. In the first season they did not entirely. This arrangement exists because a vendor validating its own agronomy recommendations is not a validation.
