Optical Design Engineer

About the team

The Photonwerk optics bench in München designs, assembles and characterises the hyperspectral line scanners Terravek flies. It is a small team with real hardware and a clean room.

What you will do

  • Design and tolerance optical subsystems for hyperspectral line scanners
  • Support assembly, alignment and environmental test campaigns
  • Contribute to the calibration uncertainty budget with the Toulouse team
  • Work with suppliers on custom optical components

What we are looking for

  • Degree in optical engineering, physics or equivalent
  • Three or more years of practical optical design with hardware you have seen built
  • Comfortable in a lab as well as in front of a simulation
  • English required; German helpful
